
The Sarao × Tembo Electric Jeepney completed approximately 760 km of intercity travel from Las Piñas City through Naga City to Albay and back, providing operating data on energy consumption, range and DC charging under Philippine road conditions.
The journey took place during Sarao–Tembo field activities from August 4–7, which included vehicle demonstrations and stakeholder meetings in Naga City, followed by further engagements in Albay.
The road south into the Bicol Region presents a demanding combination of conditions. The route includes expressways and provincial roads, changing elevations, long uphill sections, winding curves, variable road surfaces and unpredictable traffic. For the vehicle, this meant moving repeatedly between sustained highway driving and slower, more technically demanding provincial sections on the journey toward Albay.
The Electric Jeepney is equipped with an 82 kWh battery.
The first leg covered approximately 132 km from Sarao Motors in Las Piñas City to Lucena City, Quezon, taking approximately four hours under mixed road and traffic conditions.
The vehicle arrived in Lucena City with 62% battery remaining.
It then underwent a 45-minute DC fast-charge session, bringing the battery back to 100% before continuing south.
The second leg covered approximately 248 km from Lucena City to Naga City in approximately six hours.
This section brought more demanding road conditions, including rough road surfaces, long uphill sections, winding curves and sustained highway-speed driving as the route continued south towards Bicol.
The Electric Jeepney arrived in Naga City with 43% battery remaining. Based on the 82 kWh battery capacity, approximately 46.7 kWh of energy was used over the 248 km leg.

At the recorded consumption rate, this corresponds to an extrapolated driving range of approximately 435 km.
Naga City marked the end of the recorded 248 km efficiency leg, but not the end of the journey.
Following the activities in Naga City, the team continued south into Albay, extending the journey further into the Bicol Region.
The road into Bicol is a meaningful test for both driver and vehicle. Distance, sustained elevation changes, winding roads, uneven surfaces and changing traffic conditions occur across the same route, placing different demands on energy consumption and vehicle performance than a predominantly urban journey.
In Albay, the team continued field activities and project discussions, including engagements in Libon and Camalig, before beginning the return journey north.
Following completion of the activities in Albay, the Electric Jeepney returned to Manila, bringing the total distance travelled during the field trip to approximately 760 km.
Across the journey, the Sarao × Tembo Electric Jeepney operated across expressways, provincial and local roads, sustained climbs, winding sections and varying traffic conditions, while also using existing public DC charging infrastructure.
The 760 km round trip to Albay and back provides further operating data on the Electric Jeepney's energy efficiency, usable range and charging performance during extended intercity travel under Philippine road conditions.
